摘要:Devices capable of storing and processing quantum information have the potential to create revolutionary technologies. The performance of such devices can be significantly improved by engineering the interactions between photons and stationary quantum bits (qubits). This talk will explore two solid-state approaches for quantum information processing applications.

First, I will discuss our approach to building quantum network nodes based on a new color center in diamond, the neutral silicon vacancy (SiV0). Its long spin coherence times and efficient optical transitions make it a promising candidate for quantum memories in a quantum network. A key advantage of this solid-state platform is its ability to be integrated into scalable devices. We have developed a hybrid photonic platform that enhances the photon emission of SiV0 and enables on-chip telecom-band frequency conversion.

In the second part, I will present our efforts to realize ultrastrong coupling with superconducting quantum circuits. By combining van der Waals materials with superconducting transmon qubits, we aim to explore multi-qubit dynamics in the ultrastrong coupling regime, potentially leading to enhanced gate fidelity and longer coherence times for quantum information processing applications.

报告人介绍:

黄鼎博士是新加坡科技局(A*STAR)材料研究与工程研究所(IMRE)及量子创新中心(Q.InC)的高级科学家。他是一位专注于量子科学与工程的实验物理学家,主要研究方向是理解并操控纳米尺度下的量子系统。

黄博士于2021年加入A*STAR,目前的研究工作聚焦于二维材料量子器件,探索其在新一代量子技术中的应用潜力。他于2014年在英国帝国理工学院获得电子工程学士及硕士学位,并以一等荣誉毕业。他于2021年获得普林斯顿大学博士学位,博士期间的研究工作集中于金刚石中原子缺陷的光谱学及其与纳米光子腔的耦合,用于量子网络的实现。
